St. Paul / Elk Point Regional Economic Development Alliance (STEP) is a regional economic development partnership that identifies, plans, manages, and advocates for projects and initiatives within the County of St. Paul and with Lakeland neighbours. The region is very diversified with a strong Agriculture industry complemented with Tourism, Oil & Gas, and Manufacturing.

Rural Renewal Stream
STEP administers the Rural Renewal Stream on behalf of the County of St. Paul, Town of St. Paul, Town of Elk Point, and Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay.
The program is employer-led and is intended to support local labour needs and skill shortages in the region.
Community endorsement is discretionary, subject to annual allocation limits, and does not guarantee provincial nomination or permanent residency.
The STEP rural renewal program is currently paused. However, STEP is still accepting applications while waiting for direction from AAIP regarding nomination numbers in our region. Learn more about the process through the STEP website.
